Module 02 of 8 · 18 min

The core of the program. If you only remember one thing from Level 1, it is this sequence.
By the end of this module you will be able to:
4 sections, delivered as short video, audio narration or text — your choice.
Situational awareness is the ability to notice what is happening around you, understand what may be significant, and make a decision before a situation escalates unnecessarily.
SCAN — take in the space on arrival and periodically after. People, exits, lighting, obstacles, and where help is.
Predictable routines and absorbed attention are the two conditions that make targeting easy. Neither requires you to change your life — only your transitions.
Run the S.A.F.E. Method™ once a day in a place where nothing is happening. Scan: who is here and what is normal for this time. Assess: what has changed since the last time I was here. Find options: where are my two exits and my nearest help. Exit early: what would make me leave now rather than in five minutes.
Guided decision exercises with feedback on every option. Scenarios are educational and controlled — you may decline any exercise without giving a reason.
Parking garage — repeated turn
You are walking through a parking garage toward your vehicle.
The stairwell decision
You are leaving an office building at 7 PM. The lobby is empty.
This module closes with 8 quiz questions. The Level 1 final assessment is 25 questions and the pass mark is 80%.
